When it comes to injection molding, getting the designs of the product and the mold tooling right the first time around can save a lot of time, money, and stress in the long run. That’s why at DPI, we utilize a variety of tried and tested tools to assist in turning paper designs into physical plastic products.
MasterCAM and SolidWorks software provide our team and our clients with a seamless integration of the design process and the manufacturing process. They allow us to not only examine the designs through computer simulation, but also to translate them into instructions for our equipment once the tooling has been assembled and installed. This way, we can easily bridge the gap between product development and manufacturing, avoiding costly mistakes that could occur when translating data.
However, if data translation is necessary, we have the ability to import files from other CAD programs using feature generation software. Having the features and database of a model intact rather than a "Dumb File" allows you to fully utilize the power of your software for editing and creating paths. Once the parts have been generated through the CAD software, they are transmitted via DNC transmission to one of five state-of-the-art CNC machining centers. We have 2-axis, 3-axis and 4-axis machining centers, with experienced programmers to very accurately transform your visions into reality.
Of course there is still no replacement for good old fashion mold maker technology, and we have that too. DPI has roots in mold tooling design and building, and maintains a fully-equipped in-house tool shop to support all of our injection molding needs.
