Looking forward to 2009 - 1/8/2009

Looking forward to 2009:

As companies look forward to 2009 their focus will be on the global and local economies, their ability to attract new customers in a business environment that is likely to tighten and their opportunities to maintain or lower costs in order to remain healthy and competitive.  In an effort to support these pursuits Distinctive Plastics, Inc. has announced new capital equipment purchases to enhance our injection molding and tooling capabilities and to further increase our production capacity so that we can better serve our current and future customers.

Although the current economic environment is full of uncertainty and challenges it can also be a catalyst for beneficial changes such as…

In Mold Decoration (DPI offers two varieties Preformed and Kurz) of an existing product may provide a lower cost “product update” alternative than a complete redesign and the graphics are virtually unlimited.

Or maybe In Mold Labeling which can eliminate the scrap associated with manual placement while improving the durability of the finished parts.  Additionally you can change the look of the parts on the fly with new graphics and update your product with minimum cost and down time.

Perhaps a program’s total cost can be lowered via Multi-Product molding wherein different parts made of different materials can be molded in the same mold and/or press and thus benefit from “economies of scale” vs. molding two different parts in two different machines (and their associated costs) to achieve the same results.

How about In Mold Assembly which can eliminate the need and cost of post mold assembly requirements when supported by the proper part geometries.

Consider Two-Shot Molding which can substitute for pre-mold/over-mold while providing a more robust part at a lower cost per unit.

One thing is rock solid during this period of uncertainty, DPI will remain as stable and customer focused as we have been for nearly 30 years.  Our strength has always been our ability to provide our customers with the very best quality, cost, delivery and service and this will not change.  Our unique capabilities, strong engineering, innovative ideas and financial stability are the cornerstone of who we are.

These are the strengths that have always set us apart and they are the assets your company can depend on day in and day out.  It is these strengths that often allow us to compete with off-shore suppliers on a cost basis and far exceed them in quality, delivery and service.

If your company is looking for ways to improve costs and weather the current economic uncertainties and is working on new or existing injection molding programs consider DPI, we’re here to help.
