DPI Wins Best IMD Durable Goods award - 10/1/2010

The In-Mold Decorating Association proudly held its Fourth Annual Awards Competition. The 2010 Competition recognized the industry’s best in-mold labeled packaging and in-mold decorated durable products. The winning entries were chosen based on creativity in design, engineering and innovation in the following categories:

  • Best Part Design
  • Best Thin Wall Packaging
  • Best Injection Mold Part
  • Best Blow Mold Part
  • Best IMD Durable Product
  • Best Label Design
  • Best Product Family (common style or brand)

Judging Criteria was as follows:

  1. Overall impact of the finished package or part.
  2. IML/IMD “Fitness for Purpose” for the application.
  3. Innovation.
  4. Technical difficulty.
  5. Label print quality/technical achievement.
  6. Label design.
  7. Package or part design.

Judging took place on July 14 2010 in Pheonix, Arizona. The judges were as follows:

  1. Clare Goldsberry, senior editor at Modern Plastics Worldwide
  2. Yolanda Simonsis, Associate Publisher and Chief Editor at Paper Film and Foil Converter magazine.
  3. Ashley Carlson, director of packaging Plastics Div., American Chemistry Council

The awards were presented to the winners at the IMLCON and IMDCON 2010, September 29, 2010, in Miami Florida. Winning entries were also featured in the October, 2010 issue of Package Design Magizine and displayed at Pack Expo International 2010 in Chicago.
