In response to increased in-house tooling demands, DPI has added a new Mitsubishi CNC EDM machine to its equipment arsenal. In 2007 Distinctive Plastics experienced a 74% increase in tooling sales and in 2008 the tooling sales increased another 94%! We offer both supervised off-shore tooling as well as local and in-house tooling. Typically we have kept all the technical molds such as 2-shot and IMD molds in house. We also have typically handled most projects which require prototype tooling in house. More and more we are getting requests for non off shore tooling. Although we have an excellent relationship with what we think is the finest tool shop in Taiwan, sometimes it is more beneficial to have a project built in house. This year our in-house tooling sales have increased by about 150%.
