Industry 4.0 or Internet of Things (IoT) has played a major role across manufacturing, and injection molding is no different. Thanks to the continued innovation in process monitoring and quality control systems, as well the advances in smart technology and Cloud storage, DPI is able to significantly improve our quality control and ensure consistency across our entire facility for our customers.
Distinctive Plastics (DPI) specializes in technical injection molding and manufacturing automation solutions. In order to better maintain our high standards of quality, we have integrated a strict quality management system across our entire manufacturing floor, with several tools for error tracking, calibration, approval processing, and more. Every single step in our injection molding process is carefully monitored in real time, allowing us to provide updates for our customers and information that our quality control personnel can use to tweak our equipment and improve our work-optimizing cycles and streamlining any potential quality issues.
The data that we collect through our monitoring systems also allows us to reduce production downtime through preventive maintenance plans. These systems monitor various aspects of our machines, and alert personnel when an individual machine requires or may eventually require maintenance. This helps us reduce unplanned downtime and maintain productivity, so that our customers get their orders on time.
We also use this system to track and plan the maintenance of our customers' mold tooling, automatically generating work orders when the time comes. Our team works closely with our customers to discuss the individual needs of each mold, and then enter it into our tracking system to schedule out its maintenance cycle based on those needs. Integrated sensors detect if an unexpected issue arises, or if certain factors are outside of their parameters before they become an issue, allowing us to address those problems quickly.
Distinctive Plastics, Inc. (DPI) specializes in high quality technical injection molding services for some of the most demanding industries across the country. We offer manufacturing automation solutions for plastic molding that allow us to maintain extremely high standards of quality and consistency with every project.
